Stickies are invisible on 10.4.10

I am a switcher trying to learn the ropes and have a Macbook laptop 10.4.10 OSX.

The first time I opened stickies, I created a new sticky and all was going well. Then I saved it. It got saved as a text file, and the sticky disappeared.

Now when I open a new sticky, it is invisible. I know it is there because in View it shows an untitled sticky. If I choose a particular color of sticky, I can see that in the View as well, but no actual sticky on screen.

What am I doing wrong?

My apologies if I have opened the thread in the wrong category. This is my first post on the forum and this seemed like the best way to start it.

Where is it saving the file too? When you click the Save-as, click the blue triangle button and it will expand to show the path to where it is saving.

Thanks for your response.
Stickies does not have a Save as option. I can only Export it. And when I export it, I can choose where to save it, because it saves in plain text and gives me the option of saving it in any folder I want.

I found a solution for exactly the same problem on http://forums.macworld.com/ from Henry_PowerPC:

' Hi.
Maybe the Stickies are off the visible screen size. Try this: Close Stickies if open, go to ~/Library and look for the StickiesDatabase file, and move it to the desktop (this file keeps the contents of the notes, as well as their size and position). Then go to ~/Library/Preferences and move the com.apple.stickies.plist file to the desktop as well. Relaunch Stickies.'

This worked perfectly well with my PB
