stuck at 10.1, installer update 1.0 won't work!

Hey, I'm new to the board...looks like alot of fun stuff for me to learn, but right now I have a specific question for you guys:

I want to continue upgrading from 10.1, but to do that I need to have Installer Update 1.0 installed, and that is where I am stuck.

When its time to select a disk to install onto (my OSX partition), they are ALL greyed out so I can't select any of them, not even OSX!

So, until I can get Installer Update to install, I can't use the 10.1.3 update, etc!

Anyone have any advice on why all disks would be greyed out in the installer?

I don't recall anyone having trouble with the webserver after the update -- if you update all the way to 10.1.5, I think your computer and all the services will run just fine.
 
i think there might be a firmware update involved too. i don't remember exactly at what point that took place. but i seem to recall one about the time of the 10.1 update or slightly before.

wow, this kind of question is seeming like so long ago since i thought about it.
