To get this straight, I'm not talking about warez in anyway, so please do not close this thread.
I recently bought a copy of a popular game ( WarCraft III ). I have two macs (at home and at my dorm ) and I don't think I should have to pay for a second CD. I don't like to carry CDs anywhere cause they are very easily damaged.
I made a copy of the disc, to keep here at home. However whenever I insert the disc , the computer just spits it back out. I've asked around on IRC, and people have told me its a copyright protection thing. Could someone help me get this to work?

Some CDs have the ultimate copy-protection built in: purposeful bad blocks. MS Office used this in their 2001 version for OS 9. That way, if you try to make a copy, the program automatically removes the bad blocks, since it thinks they're defective, or it ignores them altogether.

Weird, yes.

Try a duplicate with toast - i duplicated my Warcraft III CD this way for use on my iBook - and it works
