Hi

Not sure if this is the proper forum, but how do i get subtitles on my downloaded movies. Most of the movies are .AVI-files. Which program do I need and where can I find the subtitles I'm looking for.

Thanks

A subtitle has to be put into the movie and when a user rips the movie he/she has to rip the subtitled version of the movie.

so there is no option in adding the subtitles afterwards?

I was on a windows-pc (yuk!) and used VLC to play a movie. Then I had no problems on adding the subtitles to the movie, just selected it as subtitle

Also; which program is the best to play movies?

You can always use VLC to play the subtitled movies.

As you can imagine, Quicktime doesn't really do that sort of thing.

ok, but HOW do I use subtitles in VLC? Where do I get the subtitles, and how do i select the subtitle? Do I have to use the same name for the film and text, just unlike file-ending or what?

if you _really_ did this on the PC... it's the very, very same task, really. and no, this is not the right forum to discuss where to get subtitlez for moviez. not the right site, really.

Subtitles from : http://www.moviesubtitles.org/

Film title and .srt (subtitle) need to have the same name. If you have Perian installed just open the movie with QT and the subtitles will automatically be added to the video. I assume works the same with VLC.
