As seen in a local, mainly PC-centric, computer store:

"Please note that, contrary to the recent advertisements, Apple's new iMac does not move by itself."

Oh my gawd! I asked the salesperson if that was for real, and, lo and behold, it was. Unreal.

Now back to our regularly scheduled rumors.:D

Darn it! I guess I won't be buying one then, I could have swore that was real! I bet you could talk to it and have it eject it's CD, though!

Actually, that's one thing Apple should focus a commercial on. The build in speech commands. A guy with an iMac saying "iMac, what time is it?" or "iMac, take me back to that porn site" would get the message across.
 
Goes to show that marketing does indeed work. However, Apple should learn a valuable lesson. Stop selling what you don't have. :)

The iMac is cool, and obviously people have flocked to go seek this new computer. They are disappointed when it doesn't offer what the advertisment does.

Apple needs to get away from FLUFF advertisements and show people using the interface, SHOW AQUA... show the interface... let people come and see it and use it. Show grandma using it, and then show a hacker dude using it. It's a machine for the whole family... stupid public or hacker nerd.

I'm just trying to picture what the people were asking the salespeople on the floor...LOL

I'm also wondering why a computer being able to bop back and forth would be a selling point for it...what are people thinking? LOL

These are probably the same people who call tech support asking about how to fix their "cup holders." :rolleyes:

Then again...these same people might think that macs either come bundled with with free porn...
 
Admin, I think apple's AFRAID to show off aqua, or OS X, for that matter. The only people who ever hear about it are those who actually go out to Apple's web site; seeking info. Not a good advertising plan, if you ask me.:D

It must be industry politics. Perhaps at the moment they're watching their step around MS, after the "Myths" publication and its testimony in the trial. Dropping office would kill the platform for a lot of people.:rolleyes:
 
Apple needs to do something to get some market back :mad: --- My boss wont be getting new macs, and the macs we have are AGING! (beige G3s) :mad: this infuriates me!

When it comes down to it I could care less about the mac vs PC debate. I have my preferences in terms of computing and wont force my ideals down the throat of the general public, but when it comes to customer service... MY CUSTOMERS, I want them to be able to use a mac if they so choose to :mad:

Stupid PC centric idiots :mad:

why would apple be afraid to show off aqua? it looks great. I would think poeple would see aqua, and want to buy a Mac because of it. many pc users bought iMacs for their fruity colors. why not a fruity interface?

I could care less ---> I care a little, but I am not all the way down tehre :p
 
The real expression is "I couldn't care less". Why people now started saying "I could care less" is a good question.

Maybe people started saying it with sarcasm - saying "I could" with the voice and body language that says "I couldn't". Then people without much sense of sarcasm picked it up, so the "I really do care" version became as common as the "I don't care" version.. ??
 
I, like scruffy, have always thought "could care less" to be incorrect usage. As it turns out, scruffy is right on about the sarcasm.

From The American Heritage Book of English Usage:

I could care less! you might say sometime in disgust. You might just as easily have said I couldn't care less and meant the same thing! How can this be? When taken literally, the phrase I could care less means “I care more than I might,” rather than “I don't care at all.” But the beauty of sarcasm is that it can turn meanings on their head, thus allowing could care less to work as an equivalent for couldn't care less. Because of its sarcasm, could care less is more informal than its negative counterpart and may be open to misinterpretation when used in writing.

Yeah! I'm really irritated that my iMac can't limbo! I thought it was just shy. I want my money back (I still want the computer, but give me the money back anyways ;) ).
