These look pretty spendy :/

It's a little spendy, i know. I bought a retail copy, only for a few g3's that come from time to time.

What are the spec's on your Laptop?
Powerbook or iBook?

You have the 1.5 Powerbook 12" huh?

Instead of paying around 120 for tiger, spend the extra 9-12 dollars and get Leopard.

It's 129 + whatever the shipping is.

How much ram do you have installed?

umm i have the 17' its the powerbook, i only have 512, but im going to install the max 2gig, im just worried about how it'll effect my apps, music apps, photoshop etc.....i mostly use it for recording and web design.Any more advice wouuld help, or am i just a little over worried???

So your running Panther (10.3)?
Hmm, you'd have to provide what version of photoshop, Google is usually your answer :)
And for the pretty much every app that you have, theres probably an updated version of it for leopard, but once again, google is the answer :)

I heard Final cut is supposed to be pretty good. I know that works for leopard.

so you think i should go with leopard huh? i read where people say your mac has to be fast enough??????It make sense for the money.

It has a requirement of 867MHz, you have 1.5GHz, you have plenty, and it will run great.

I have installed leopard on 500MHz processors, and it still runs decent.

Yeah, if your gonna spend 120+ You may as well get leopard.

i think i will, any info on certain disc that are compatible , or where to get them. sorry for all the questions

thanks got it, i have a cousin who works at apple, and i think he gets a real good discount, maybe ill just get the family pack, cause i also have a g5 single 1.8 with 10.3.9, and all the newer music software requires tiger or leopard, thanks again

Sounds like its going to work out good for you.
I think that whole "family pack" thing is a joke, i have a retail copy that was 129, and ive installed it on 6-7 mac's, no joke. Its version 10.5, so that may or may not have something to do with it.
Your welcome.
Good luck with your mac's
