Tiger Update

I just installed tiger to get the latest and greatest.
Now we are having trouble with some games that play in the classic environment, they freeze up, also Norton antivirus gives us the message to reinstall Norton.
Is this the first step in phasing out the classic environment??
Do we have to wait for new softeware developed for tiger??
Thanks

As for the Norton products, I don't think they support Tiger much less OS X anymore (I could be wrong on the antivirus though, but I doubt that with Norton products on OS X).

As for software that needs Classic to run, I haven't had any problems with that on my Tiger system. Have you tried rebuilding the desktop from the Classic pane in System Preferences?

Yes, Norton Utilities are incompatible with Tiger. You must uninstall it immediately. This should come as no surprise. Before Tiger was released, Symantec announced that it would discontinue development of NUM.

Yeah but this is Norton Antivirus ALLENS777 is talking about, not Norton Utilities for Mac per se. ALthough I'm starting to think that maybe this version of NAV was a Classic version from his description. I hope I'm wrong and it's just that I need sleep. :p

I'm wondering if it's a forum spammer. This isn't the only thread I've seen the exact same post on.

I think he means that little snafu with Tiger and certain firewire drives back when it first launched.
