ToDo List suggestions?

I am looking for a good to-do list software for my mac desktop. Specifically, I need something that is a) easy to access, and b) unobtrusive. I would envision perhaps something that hides as a small tab on the side of my screen, where I could click to view the list, and click again to hide it. A menu bar option would work, but I would prefer it to have its own window to work in. Any suggestions? Preferably free or at least with a free trial. Thanks.

If you want just something very simple, how about ToDo?
It's free http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/email_messaging/todo.html and for plain things it probably doesn't hurt it's a widget instead of a full-blown app
