Top Tiger for iMac G3 DV?

I just got ahold of a couple of imac g3's
1 iMac DV 400
1 iMac Snow 500 Mhz
I successfully loaded Tiger on the DV. But when I went to runt Software Update it refused to finish the process with the combined update 10.4.11.
It stuck on "Looking for software to update."
I figure that the computers themselves won't accept updates all the way to 10.4.11.
I have not been able to find anything on this.
Do you know how far they can be updated and where to download the update levels specifically outside Software Update?

Any iMac G3 (slot-loading CD) should update to 10.4.11.
If software update doesn't want to finish, then download the update that you want from the Apple web site - Here's the link, but there's nothing mysterious about finding it. You do want to make sure you don't waste your time by getting the Intel version, when you want the PPC version - anyway, here it is: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_4_11_Combo_Update__PPC_


Some who post here think that 10.3.9 is a better match for the G3, but I'm not sure that I would agree. Video support (and Quicktime in general) really isn't very good anymore, but, hey, it's nearly 10 years old, eh?
