torrent download files

I hope this thread hasn't already been addressed. Each time I download a torrent file, a extension "imported" is added to the end of the torrent file.
ie "OS X_Lion.torrent.imported". This happening on different sites. When I try to remove the "imported" extension, the file revert back to the original file name.

What did you expect to happen?

Why (instead of a $30 download for Lion direct from Apple) would you put yourself at risk with a torrent?

Yes, this site does not offer support for file sharing sites and torrents.
 
his in reply to DeltaMac, I using Lion torrent as an example. If you read my entry completely you would have seen that I'm already running Lion!
 
Your original post is short and to the point.
You said nothing about already running Lion.
You did say that removing the ".imported" extension then leaves you with a file with the original extension, which (I think) is what you should expect will happen.
What actual problem are you having as a result of removing the ".imported" extension?

I'll restate my original question:
If you already have Lion, why would you need the aggravation of a torrent download, when you already have the Lion installer - on your Recovery partition?
