Treo 700p interoperability w/ OS X Tiger?

I am thinking about buying a Treo700p smart phone when they come out. The 700w is Windows based, and the 700p is PalmOS. Does anyone know if the 700p will be compatible with Mac OS X Tiger?

Isn't true that Apple is making its own smart phone?
