My parents just got a Mac, and I don't have one. So I can only help them so much until I get one. I just got them a gmail account (someone sent me an invite), and when they tried to use it, they could not sign in.
They got the following message when they tried logging in:
Javascript should be enabled to allow cookies to be set.
Or something to that effect. They checked their settings, and they have Javascript enabled, have it set to only accept cookies from sites they are navigating to, and the pop-up blocker is set to ON.
I'm guessing it is the pop-up blocker that is causing this, as most pop-ups are caused by javascripts (even though safari is set to have javascript enabled).
I do not believe that it is their setting for only enabling cookies to be accepted from sites they are navigating to, as when I used gmail, I received no other cookies, except those from gmail.com. I use Cookie Pal (btw, what is the best cookie manager for Mac's?).
I know that this has nothing to do with the gmail service, and that it applies to all sites that use cookies, but this just happens to be the service that they were using when they had this problem occur.
Any thoughts on this?
