i want to turn off all shadowing of icons, text, etc in OSX.
it's annoying how it slows the finder down...

i heard you have to hack the system file... no terminal command does it.

is this true? and how do i do it?

im running 10.2.6
g4 (1st generation), 400mhz, ATI rage video. (ick)

Install more memory, get a faster processor, run FSCK, reload the 10.2.6 COMBO updater, remove system cache files, repair permissions. Some or all of these should speed up your system :) As far as a hack to the system file ???

Read the end of the "Mac faster than PC?" thread. Someone (I think Lycander) mentioned it... ask that person.

there's an utility called ShadowKiller, I think that's what you want. It should be on versiontracker somewhere.
