Two CD Drives Issue

I've got the SuperDrive and an external Firewire burner (cuz it's faster at regular burns). Toast only sees the external and the Apple keyboard Eject button ejects both drives simultaneously. How can I get Toast to see one or the other without unplugging anything and how can I use the keyboard to just eject one or the other?

Let me guess. I can't. Thanks for any feedback.
 
i don't think there is anything you can do about the keyboard - at least nobody's ever posted a solution and you aren't the first to whine.

as for toast, maybe the new update that came out yesterday will help. We're in 5.1.4 now. or if you're using the oem version, nothing you can do. it is not likely to support the superdrive ever.
 
10.1.5 only ejects the internal drive now. You're stuck using the eject button on the external drive to eject/insert discs now.

However, in Toast and also in Disk Copy, when you hit the "Burn" button, the tray on the CD-R or CD-RW drive ejects and waits for you to put in a blank disk.
