Un-partitioning a Hard Drive

I'm running OS 8.6 on a blue/white G3. When I bought it the hard drive was partitioned and I now want to install OS 9 on it and clean the whole hard-drive out with a clean install. When I do that I want the hard drive unpartioned though, and am having trouble finding how to do it.

Any help on how to put the partitioned drive back together would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Unfortunately I just know how it works for macos 10.x
You boot from the CD. Open Disc-Utilities and delete the additional partition. You will have to format the disc... Et voilà.

You'll find that when you reformat the HD with drive Setup (the OS 9 utitlity) you will revert to just one partition by default, which is what you want, more partitions are your choice. Boot your system to the OS 9 install CD, and browse into the Utilities folder, double-click on Drive Setup and click on the drive and Format!

Don't forget that when you re-partition that hard drive you are wiping all the data and starting over. Back up everything you want to save from the drive before you format.

Thanks D-mac that worked, too easy.

Thanks Nato, I was aware of that, thanks for the reminder anyway.
