Unable to send email after applying Security Update 2004-01-26

Myself and a colleague have just installed the latest update on our Powerbooks, and now we are unable to send emails.

We both connect to our office email via Exchange using Mail 1.3.3. We can receive mail, we just can't send mail. Everything was working fine before we installed the update.

Has anyone had any similar problems?

Thanks,
Cormac.

Hi there

my update went without a hitch on a G3/600 iMac. Have you tried repairing permissions?? It's always a good idea to do this after a software update.

You may want to double-check the authentication methods in Mail to be sure they weren't reset to something else. I had the same problem with Entourage when I applied a security update under 10.2, and it turned out that my authentication for sending mail was set to "None" when it should have been set to "Password" after the update.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. It turn out that my authentication had been reset. All is well now.

Cormac.
