Update log

I was looking in my hard drive on the desktop and there are two things called "update log." Do I need them? If not, can i put them in the trash? One is Office 2004 Update log and the other is MAU update log. Thanks!

They're log files from the installation of Microsoft Office updates... they're not used for anything other that to let you know what went on during the update process (errors, what files were installed, etc.). If you don't care for these two logs, delete them -- most people do -- otherwise, just tuck 'em away in your Documents folder or something.
