Upgradedb error after Leopard u/g

I'm back on 10.4.11, but I remember the upgradedb error when trying to use Daylite or Entourage.
Daylite would not even launch. With Entourage I dismissed the message and things seemed to work fine.
I got the same message as the one pictured in this blog:

Ah excellent, so

trash[ing] the ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local/ folder did it then...
(Just in case the discussions thread linked would get archived or deleted etc).
Usually touching that folder brings good karma but glad that it's fixed now

Giaguara, you rock! I was having the exact same symptoms and was losing my mind. Found absolutely nothing useful in the Apple discussions, but eventually ended up here.

Found this thread, trashed the folder referenced above, and voila -- I'm back up and running.

I don't have the folder SyncServices, what can I do?

Sync once with .mac/me/phone and that should create the preferences on your home/Library...

Everything was working fine, I have done no updates and changed nothing; it has just happened out of the blue
