I am thinking about upgrading my G5 to Leopard. I currently have Panther installed and was going to jump right to Leopard. Are there any issues I will need to be aware of in the upgrading process?

Thanks,
Brian

Do a clean install.
Upgrade install is only senseful if you go frm 10.3 to 10.4 or 10.4 to 10.5. Jumping from 10.2 to 10.4 or 10.3 to 10.5 etc is not tested and is not a good idea.

So first back up everything to some other drive.
Then make sure you have enough RAM.
Then do a clean install, and then import whatever you need ver.

First learn about the Archive & Install and use that. The Unix core changed drastically between though two versions so you must update all your applications. Once it is installed with the Archive & Install you will have an extra folder called "Previous System", Get the info out of that folder what you need and then throw the folder out (to save space because "Previous system os not needed, it is there just for one to get data out before it goes away.

Once you got 10.5 installed, if it is a version better that 10.5.5+) then use the
10.5.8 Combo Update to save time updating.
