Useless Folders appearing on the Desktop

I just cleaned out a used Mac PC for my wife - deleted all the Classic stuff - including ACDSee. Whenever I start up I get two empty folders on my desktop "JPEG Images" and "Original Images". Could you please tell me if they still come from the deleted ACDSee or from what else - and give me advice how to stop this nuicance from happening?

Is there anything in the user's "Login Items" (System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items) that could be recreating those folders upon login?
 
Plus do us a favor and hold down the "option" key while clicking on the top left Apple symbol. Then the drop down will have "System Profiler", select that to launch. When it launches you will be abel to look at many parts of that Mac.

We need to know hat's that Mac is and what version of OS X is it running to help you precisely.
