Using 10.5 restore discs to install on another computer.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to use the Leopard restore discs from a brand new Macbook and use them to install Leopard on an older Macbook?
 
Other than saying it would be possible, this site does not support that use. The license with your new MacBook only allows you to have the software installed on that one MacBook. So, the install would not be allowed by the terms of that license, even if possible.
 
Sorry for making it sound like I'm stealing a copy. I have Leopard installed on both macbooks at the time however the older one has so many bugs and glitches, while the newer one runs perfectly. I was just wondering if I used the new disc and reinstalled on the older one if it would work better.
 
That would be unlikely to make any difference. If both of your restore sets are Leopard, and both show the same version (10.5) on the disk label, then there's no difference between the sets anyway. This is not Windows that you are talking about, and a reinstall is not a good first step, you know. If you must try that anyway - reinstall Leopard (whichever set you want to use will make no difference), and choose an Archive & Install option at the beginning of the reinstall. If you have already upgraded to 10.5.2, then that will be your only choice, other than an Erase & Install, which is a last resort.
I suggest that you download and install the 10.5.2 combo updater first, before you try something more involved, eh? Here's a link to that download.

The new set are restore discs. The old ones are purchased. They are both different. I want to know if using the restore discs will help instead of the regular install discs.
