Using AluBook with lid closed

Hi I just read in the new 15-inch PowerBook's manual that if you connect the power adapter, an external display, a keyboard and a mouse you can use the powerbook with the lid closed.
I also read HERE that by doing that you were risking to overheat the machine. Should I listen to apple and use it that way?
