Hello everyone,

Very recently my internet connection has slowed down very drastically when changing pages, using either Firefox or Safari.

I am wondering why it is running so slow on the net, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My isp seems to be working ok- 1 user is experiencing fast(normal) internet, one using wireless is usual as well. Me and another seems to be slowed down. (they are all windows).

my comp- G5 dual 2.7power pc, 2.5 g ram, osx10.4.11.

I have completed a ping test;
ping has started ...

I think this proves the cables are working?

I have also done a traceroute;

The "unkown" in the traceroute might be a problem. There is ONE Trojan Horse known for OS X (it involves a p0rn site asking to install a QuickTime plugin to view a video). Read about the DNS problem it install at this MacWorld blog post.

Consider going to a better DNS servvice that YOU control. The service is in the USA and is called OpenDNS. You can get a FREE account and control your DNS directly as well as other services.
