What is the best (cheapest) device to use to get video into my Mac G4/Dual 1.0Ghz MDD? I want to get all my old VCR tapes onto DVD before they are no good anymore. I have seen some USB/Firewire devices but compatability worries me. Does OS X have software that will see the device?

Welcome to the forum ! :)

Check out these. While I am not sure of how they work, they are listed in Apple's Made4Mac web page.

Pinnacle Systems makes Dazzle, but I can't find the Mac version.

Well, there is a device that imports MPEG-2 that can be put into iDVD. It also does TV and TV recording. It is made by Elgato.
