View Options- All Windows irreversably changed everything! help!

So, when one creates a new folder, and fills it full of documents and other folders, the next thing one might want to do is change the view settings, eh? Unfortunately, a friend of mine was tired and started changing settings on the "All Windows" setting, and didn't notice. before this, my friend had all of her windows in the "All Windows" setting, but with all the options unchecked, and she was happy moving things around by herself, with her own logic (not by alphabetical order or anything, but, you know, veggie recipies on the left side of the window, meat recipies on the right). So, when she accidentally changed the "All Windows" setting, it screwed up all her logical views, in alphabetical order and whatnot.... I've unchecked the settings in the "All Windows" setting, but they won't go back to her logical arrangement? any way to reverse this?

Is there any software for Mac OS X that can go back in time and change things? Help!

I don't really have a solution to your problem, but I can tell you that I do a similar thing with my writing folder. I have about a dozen projects that are simply stored into folders by a working title, and then I have a few folders that I would like to have on-top.
I have called these:
!Finished Stories
!Unfinished Stories
!Notes and Ideas

By putting the exclamation mark there, I'm making sure these folders always float to the top of the list. I've also changed the folder icons to a different colour to differentiate them.

I've had this happen before after a fresh reinstall of OSX. Just remember to change view options to 'This Window Only' the first time you open a new window, otherwise the system opens Windows globally with those settings until you change them. How to correct the 'all windows' option? there might be a way to do that through Terminal, Search here at MACOSX.com for that. but, for now, change each window that displays incorrectly, be sure to change the 'all windows' to 'This Window Only' or the change won't stick. You may see leftovers for quite a while. Remember that changing the Windows options only changes windows that have not been viewed before. Older windows will still reatin those settings and must be changed back to 'This Window Only' one at a time.
