VPN stops AFP mounts

Hi,

I run a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo for Timemachine backups and I have intermittent issues with it. After some troubleshooting I realized that it is my VPN connection (Cisco AnyConnect) that dismounts the ReadyNAS AFP share and Timemachine finds no disk for the backup. If I disconnect the VPN the AFP will be unmounted until the next reboot.

Can this be solved someway? Making the AFP disk to be mounted again when VPN is disconnected? I'm running Mountain Lion.

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a SSH style connection that will make a private Tunnel to another network, like a separate Ethernet connection then you home connect but using you home connection to get there. So once you turn on a VPN it will cut off your local network favoring a Virtual local connection to the network your trying to get to.
