watching cnn.com news and yahoo news feed

i downloaded the windows media player 9 and installed it.
but still i cannot watch neither cnn.com nor yahoo news. it says windos media player not detected.

how do i fix this problem?

if this is a matter of setting media player as default player, how do i do this on a mac?

Microsoft stop developing for Windows Media for Mac. To get the CNN video feed you will need the plugin Flip4Mac. It will play those CNN files. The only thing about Windows media on a Mac, Microsoft has not released the DRMed Windows Media 10 video files to any other platform then XP.

The Yahoo video is based on Flash so you need to download and install Adobe 's Flash Player to watch those files.

One more plugin you should get (to make your video experience on the Net easier) is called Perian. It will play many forms of video as a QuickTime plugin. The plugin would be put into the folder /Library/QuickTime/.

Hi,

As recommended, I installed Flip4Mac and Perian. However, when I try to view CNN videos, the second (video) window comes up, says that the Windows media Player plugin is not installed, and then Safari hangs (locks up).

Any suggestions?
