weird Entourage problem

for some reason there is about 14 emails in my .mac account on Entourage that I cant delete. they do not wshow up in my mail on mac.com, but they will not delete from entourage. Any ideas?

If you are using 2004 I would not be surprised, even more so with there "update". I have so many problems even with hotmail accounts!! Anyway, if all else fails, I would copy the emails you want to a new folder and delete the account in Entourage and recreate it, assuming you have it set up as a POP account, if not, if it's setup up as IMAP, just delete it from Entourage and recreate.
Hope that helps

If that's the case I'll just reinstall Entourage v.X, but I assume they are changing thier servers so that won't work for long either.

I use Entourage v10.1 for OS X and it picks up hotmail just fine. Sounds like they are forcing people to pay for the hotmail "upgrade" by disabling this feature in the new Entourage. How many other companies can get away with this silly behavior?

I just checked my version. Microsoft Office 2004 Student/Teacher Edition, all recently updated, and I can still add a Hotmail/MSN account successfully.

I don't think this ability will be removed from the actual application itself; rather, I think Microsoft will somehow disable the ability to connect to their servers for the free Hotmail accounts, effectively disabling Entourage access unless you've got a paid Hotmail account.

OK,
We're getting a little off subject, but still nice to know, he origanally asked about his .mac account. If anyone knows another way to help him please share.
Thanks

Hmm... do those "persistent" emails have a line through them, or are they greyed out or anything? If you set up .Mac as an IMAP server and don't have the option checked to move the emails to the Deleted Items folder, then they'll sit in your inbox despite you having clicked on them and deleted them. Unless you have the preference set that will remove deleted items at a specified time or interval, you'll have to delete them yourself -- otherwise, the message just gets marked as "Deleted" and sits there until someone or some script tells it to purge the deleted items.

Try this: from the "Edit" menu, select "Purge Deleted Items" and see if that gets rid of them.
