Weird Symbols when trying to install?

Hey Guys,

I own a 24inch iMac running Mac OS X Version 10.6.7 processor 2.93 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Every time I try to install new software the box that asks for my username and password appears, but the characters are weird.

How do I fix it?

Have you tried to create a new user and install the program using its account?

Either your Font cache is either messed up or you deleted a system font. The was to delete your font cache can be done by booting into Safe Mode and booting back into your regular mode. Also you could use some third part disk cleaner like Yasu or Onyx that can clear font cache along with all your other cache.
