Recently inherited a G4 Mac and it's got a "Pci Taxi2" card in it. Does anyone have any idea what this card does and what it is used for? It looks like it's got a serial port on it...is this card just a generic serial port?
That's a specialized serial card, made by scitex, which is a defunct company (swallowed up by Kodak, I think). Card is used with scitex scanners, and a few high-end digital camera backs, such as the Leaf Cantore.
I am looking for a PCI TAXI2 card if you don't need it
The card is used to connect old digital backs like Leaf volare, Leaf Cantare, Leaf Cantare XY to G3 or G4 and possibly early G5 with PCI not PCI-e slots
