What program is .mpc connected with ?

Hello,

I received some sound files with the suffix .mpc. Seems to be connected with 'Media Player Classic', a Windoze based product.
Has anybody successfull opened .mpc files with a Mac application ?

 
It's an audio-codec. Similar like mp3 but I guess higher compressed. I don't have such a file to test, but try itunes...
 
Thanks for the suggestions. I had tried those but they don't work. Actually, the only app that 'accepts' the file right away (i.e. I don't have to press alt+command) is iTunes. However, it doesn't play it or list it. Seems like I'm stuck with VPC...
