whats the status on ftp downloads?

If you look through the various threads on the subject, you will find several people who have offered to give out the access info for their FTP servers upon request, me included.
 
..and of course, the old "buyer* beware" should be added.....we've already seen in another post that one of the ftp hosts was froma guy who didn't even know how to make an image file....do you really want to spend the time downloading and ending up with a screwed up file?

(* in this case buyer is not the correct phrasing....any of the ftp sites you see here are not legal, and you use the image at you own risk.....)
