When a window is not currently selected, it becomes transparent.

I've actually had this problem for quite a long time, about a year. But I really can't stand it anymore.
I am running 10.4.2 on an iBook G4.
If I have, for example, have a word file open and a safari window open, if I have the safari window selected (just for simple things, like checking my mail, anything.), then the word file with become transparent. If I click on the word file, then the safari window will be transparent. This happens for all applications.
Help on stopping the opacity drops? Please? Sorry if this is confusing, I'm not sure if I explained it correctly, or even if I posted this in the right section.

On the test account the problem does occur. I tried moving all my stuff to the test account, but I was stupid and messed up and lost all my pictures (oops.)
Is there any other way than moving everything to a new account? Can I somehow reset the setting on this account? (I'm the administrator, btw.)

Well, if the problem occurred with the test account why move anything to that test account?

Is there a reason why your system is in 10.4.2, and not 10.4.11?
There have been quite a number of bug fixes from 10.4.2 to 10.4.11...

And before, I'm sorry, I meant the problem does not occur.
I've updated to 10.4.11. It only occurs with some appilcations now. These applications are: Preview, textedit, and Safari.
