white plastic part with ipod nano?

Sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and nothing came up so here it is. What is that white plastic part that comes with the ipod nano for? This is the 5th gen ipod nano if that makes a difference. Thanks.
 
OK, Now I see. I seen the ipod fit into it but couldn't figure out what the heck you use it for...lol Thank you very much.
