Why am I getting this message?

An eligible iMovie application was not found in the location /Applications.

My 17" Macbook Pro CAME WITH imovie '08 (which never worked), however I downloaded the 7.1.4 version and it worked fine. Recently I had to reinstall my entire OS X software system, which erased all my files. When I did, the bundle did NOT include imovie '08, nor can I get imovie 7.1.4 to work! All I get is this message instead. What can I do, and is there a way to recover my itunes library since my ipod is registered with Apple and itunes, however, now all my music is gone. Thank you for your response!!!

Some questions: Did you do a complete 'erase and install' or an 'archive and install'? If you did the former, did you back up your iTunes library before easing your disc? If you didn't then you have lost your iTunes collection. However there is a software programme that allows you to transfer all your songs from your iPod to your Mac here.

You don't say which operating system you have on your Macbook. Did you only get one DVD install disc with the MacBook? Could the additional programmes such as iMovie be on another install DVD? If you have only one install DVD, have you looked at the install DVD to see whether there is an icon for additional porgrammes?
