Why doesnt iTunes want to burn certain tracks?

Why doesn't iTunes want to burn certain tracks? They are in mp3, there should be no good reason for graying them out in the burn list.

Wait .. actually some of those tracks it does not want to write are m4a. Ripped from my cds but still .. why can't it convert them to a cd??

Are you trying to write an Audio CD, or an MP3 CD?

If the latter, you have to convert them to MP3s first.
If the former, well, it should convert themselves, but that's a lengthy process so it might not do it automatically...

mp3 cd.

if i convert them manually, i would need to re-rip them to the original format .. so i just guessed which were the m4a folders and burn those folders on a separate cd with firestarter .. :-/

Ah, yes, one of the catches of iTunes... you can't burn an MP3 CD with anything other than MP3s...
