Why is Norton popping up???

When I switched from my Ibook to the Mac Book Pro and firewired over everything, all of a sudden i get this random norton virus alert when I start my computer or sometimes even just randomly. I don't have and haven't had Norton and can't find it anywhere to delete it. the error makes it seem like it is in my applications but it doesn't seem to be.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
 
You probably had it installed on the old machine and deactivated it but didn't remove/uninstall it.

Search for the word "Norton" and delete any norton files you find. You don't need that app on a mac. :)
 
Many of the files installed by Norton antivirus start with the letters sym
If Norton is just partially installed, you should look through the System folder, especially in Extensions, Frameworks, Private Frameworks, and StartupItems folders.
