I believe that the Power Mac G5 uses Serial ATA, so unless you get an ATA/IDE controller or an IDE to Serial ATA adapter, you won't be able to use this.

I would get an actualy Serial ATA hard drive though.

As far as I know, any SATA hard drive should work. If anyone knows whether one would be incompatible, speak now or forever hold your peace. :)
 
30 bucks is great for that after the rebate, but G5 can't use that. Sata drives are numerous and you should get a 200gig one for under $100 in most places.
