Window Media Player Problem

Hi all,
looking for some help here I have had this problem for quite a while now, when I try to open a .wmv file thru either Explorer, Safari, or Firefox it shuts down the application with an ensuing error message, I have deleted the Media Player and all the assoc files and tried to reload but to no avail, any hints will be gratefully accepted

Please state what version of Mac OS X you're using, as it'll help us better determine what to do.

I would recommend ditching Windows Media Player altogether and installing Flip4Mac's WMV plugin, which will allow you to view unprotected Windows Media content via QuickTime:

Thanks for the swift reply, I'm using a PowerBook G4 with OSX 10.3.9, 867 Processor and 256MB SDRAM, 40GB HD and SuperDrive

I would still recommend the Flip4Mac WMV plugins for your system -- Windows Media Player from Microsoft is no longer supported or in production, and Microsoft's recommended viewer is now Flip4Mac's plugins.

I have the New Macbook Pro

I was looking for something to play wmv files. Today I found the mplayer let me play wmv files.

MPlayer OS X - Version 1.0pre8 movie player for DivX & other formats. I hoping to find something better soon.
I have try Flip4Mac 2.02 will not work on Macbook Pro.

Mplayer cannot play Windows Media 9 files. Flip4Mac can if you run the QuickTime Player in Rosetta.
