Is there a program where you can connect two apple computers over lan and share windows. like toss them back and forth from screen to screen or something like that. (not file sharing but window sharing.)
I've heard of something like it but cant recall the name. If anyone knows of an app like this please post

thanks

Kind of. Let me put it this way. Me and my coworker work side by side developing web pages. We are constanly saving files to a networked drive and opening them on the other mac. We get tired of constantly saving and opening and are looking for a better alternative. A couple of months ago I remember reading about a program. You have both macs side by side each with there own user and controls but you can share windows. Like, let's say I have an editor open with a css document and I need my coworker to double check my code, I could take my mouse and click on the window and almost like toss the window to his screen. He could then edit it and toss it back to me. No networked drive required. So it's not like a vnc program. It's more like a real-time program/file sharing program. But it's instant. Don't have to bother with saving the file or anything.

Well, sure, you need some type of program that will allow you to share windows over a LAN.
And, that's a form of screen sharing, even though you prefer not to call it that.
VNC, or something that performs a similar function is what you want.
Why would you think otherwise?

The only reason I say it's my vnc/screen sharing is the fact that I don't want to view the other persons screen. I simply want to have their window on my computer running on my computer from my computer. Not having to rely on the other computer. The other computer sends it to me for my computer to run it. So really it's not vnc.

What you are describing now is not window sharing. What you are describing is ordinary networking of Mac applications:
1. Log into the remote Mac over the network.
2. Navigate to the application that you want to run.
3. Double-click.

AFAIK there is nothing quite like what you're after. On Linux there might be some magic you can perform with X11 over SSH, but even then it wouldn't be simple. OS X has no way to transfer a program or window from one machine to another. The best you'll get is with some kind of screen sharing like VNC. Or maybe some online apps like Google's would fit the bill (probably not).
