Windows Media Player crashes under Tiger

I can't make it run at all, the icon barely appears in the dock before it disappears, and I get the bug-report window.

Anyone else have any luck?

Well, I cant say much because the installer freezes on me... (ugh... microsoft). Hopefully someone else can help.... I just use VLC or other media players that can be found at http://www.macupdate.com/ and http://www.versiontracker.com/

Change the Mask to predetermined (in the View Menu).
That works for me

Brian, throw out All the preference files for Windows Media Player (there are several). The program will run but if one chooses a different skin, it will crash at every launch. Time for an upgrade from Microsoft.

By Jove, the preference trick works. And to validate what Satcomer said, the skin reverted back to plain after I threw out the Prefs file. Thanks!
