WMP keeps crashing now...

i recently did a complete erase and reinstall of everything a couple of days ago and everything was working perfectly. i had been using my windows media player all day with no problems. i started selecting a different skin, and every time i selected 'modern' it would quit. i finally got it to select that skin and stay open, but once i closed it it won't reopen.
i already threw away the entire folder and emptied the trash, downloaded a new disk image and did a reinstall but it won't open at all. Im getting the 'unepectedly quit' box every time. any suggestions?

maybe some support files that live elsewhere that i may be overlooking?

WMP 9 was discontinued on OS X because of the skin problem. To get WMP9 showing again delete these files in Your Username/Library/Preferences:

Windows Media Player Prefs

Windows Media Favorites

This should get it going again.

WMP9 has been discontinued and replaced by microsoft paying for Flip4Mac's basic windows media 9 plug-ins for Quicktime, a far more graceful approach.

I tried the flip4mac thing once already, which is what indirectly lead me to where I am right now. I don't like how it only played the first half of every video for the trial version, and I'm not in the market to buy anything right now, so I had to get rid of it.
Thank you both for your input. Satcomer, I'll fix the preferneces. I thought it had to be something that simple, but I was on my machine ALL DAY yesterday and wasn't thinking to clearly when this problem presented itself.

but thanks to ms, the base flip4mac (which is a qt plug-in that allowa you to only play wma files) now playes the whole video. its no longer a trial thing. i use it all the time, and have no issues with it.
