WMV Player other than Windows media?

Does anyone know of a player for OSX that can play .wmv format other than Windows Media Player? My Windows media player (I have the latest one) doesn't play anything right. Either the sound or the video is messed up.

I have a similar problem, in all cases, VLC, WMP, and MPlayer, I can hear the sound for the wmv file but I can't see any video. Any thoughts?

My first thought is that there's something wrong with the file, not the players...

Such a file is either problematic or is encoded with a VERY new or if you prefer "incompatible" codec... In order to find what gives you should check the same file in a Wintel/Amd box! If you can play the file there it is incompatible with the Mac. If there too you have problems then whoever did this file is a total loser

Hint: The file maybe is encoded with WMP9
