XBOX bridge

does anybody know if and how i can create a xbox network bridge on osx through a netgear switch and a belkin wireless bridge

Explain what you mean. It sounds like you mean this:

internet <-> belkin wireless router <-> switch <-> Macintosh <-> xbox

I'd need some real details first. If you're just wanting to firewall the xbox, that's easy - two lines in the terminal will do that.

I have heard that you can do a thing called a bridge so you can lag the game and gain host in matchmaking

hmm. You certainly could induce lag if you ran nat and ipfw on your mac, and went 'through' it. This is somewhat complicatd though, and you might be better off getting six old-school 10-base2 ethernet hubs and daisy-chaining them.

Gaining host is a lot more complicated than simply lagging the game.

You cannot mod your dashboard without hard-modding your system.

sorry, why do you (would anyone) induce lag into a game? doesn't that make it slower?

i'm not an online gamer, so please explain nicely.

It's a way to cheat on Halo -- the host of the match can do wicked things if they have a modded Xbox and modified level maps (like run super-fast, jump super-high, have automatic aiming, change the weapons on a level, etc.). Inducing lag into the game can help the modder get the "host" designation so that they can do these things.

They're not trying to slow the game down, they're trying to cheat.

does anybody know what i have to do to ftp my xbox i type in ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx
it comes up with password error i dont know my password is there any way to change it
i am connected through a belkin wireless> belkin bridge >netgear switch> computer > xbox
is it possible to connect the computer to the xbox through ftp or other and tranfer mods over without undoing the xbox.
the xbox mods i would like to have is a dash mod a halo mod and be able to gain host

This is a question better suited for an XBox forum -- not that we won't help you, but the wealth of knowledge around here is concerning Mac OS X, not the inner workings of an XBox.

It looks like you'll need a "mod chip" (which are now illegal to sell in the US) to do anything you want to do. A simple search for "how to mod xbox" turns up too many hits to list:
