At work, I use a eMac OS X Version 10.3.9 with 700MHz PowerPC G4 processor, and 640 MB SDRam memory. I have a .xlsm with macros made in visual basic that I want to use. What I understand is that I need to upgrade to 10.4 (Tiger). Is that correct? Also, will doing this upgrade mess up or wipe out my computer?

I have never used a Mac before. Please help!

OK. Only Excel 2008 among commercial apps can read .xlsm spreadsheets. However, Excel 2008 cannot execute the embedded Visual BASIC for Applications code because Microsoft removed the functionality. Microsoft will restore VBA to the next version of Office, but that is in the future. For now, you might try NeoOffice if you want to execute the macros.

Thank you. I downloaded NeoOffice 2.2.6 (that is the only one available that will work with my eMac). When I attempt to open my .xlsm with macros made in visual basics, I get a popup that asks for "Filter Selection". What do I select?

You should be able to experiment with the different choices to find out what works, and what doesn't.
And - it's possible that older Neooffice might not be able to deal with the the newer file formats, or the macros.

It lists different programs (i.e.: Microsoft Excel 2007, XML, etc) for the user to select. It is simply a list of different programs I could potentially use to open the file.

What is the result when you choose one of those apps? I would think that Excel 2007 would be an excellent choice, as that would likely be the source app for that file...

Hello! When I try to open the file in these forms, it will either display that it cannot open that file or will open a blank excel sheet.
