    Can I turn off case-sensitive?

Well put, ElDiablo. I then realize that NOTHING can be done : for the reasons you just gave, you can't even backup your case-sensitive drive to a drive that is not case sensitive. I wonder what a backup program like Retrospect will do in this case ? And Time Machine ? Maybe they can...

Can't connect to my wireless router

I have a DLink 615 that had the exact same problem 6 months ago, and that has been working perfectly since I installed the latest firmware update. Tried that ? BimBam

    Safari Keeps Crashing - CrashReporter

I had somewhat the same problem : Safari 3.2.1 always hanged after having accessed 4 or 5 sites. It then stopped responding, using about 95-100% processor time (Activity Monitor). I then found in Apple's Discussions that de-selecting the option concerning Fraudulent Sites, in Safari's...

External LaCie external HD good to use as main drive?

Just for the sake of curiosity, I searched for "iBook G4 drive replacement" and stumbled upon this very well illustrated site on how to do it : http://www.faqintosh.com/risorse/en/guides/hw/ibook/g4hd/ Well, reaching an iBook G4's internal drive appears MUCH more complicated than I had...

External LaCie external HD good to use as main drive?

I don't think there is any structural differences between an internal drive and an external one. In fact, I extracted a 500 GB drive from a LaCie Porsche external and "transplanted" it into my iMac G5 about a year ago, and everything has been working without any problem whatsoever. I...

Small CD stuck in the drive!

Same thing happened to me a year ago, and I found a quick way to get the mini-CD out without damaging anything : just take one of those sticky address labels and press it onto the mini-Cd with a credit card or the like. Then, pull. It'll be out in seconds. BimBam.

    iPod Games removal

I have an iPod Nano 8 Gig (3rd generation) onto which I want to store a little more than 7 Gigs or recorded audio conferences (mp3, 64 bps recordings which, to my ear, is the maximum compression possible), and for which I want to dedicate this Nano exclusively and share it with friends...

Stop the LED from "breathing" in Sleep mode?

Reading all of the replies and suggestions, I wonder why the simplest of all solutions has not been put forward : if the sleep light is so annoying (and it is to me too), why not perform a plain and simple overnight shut down ? I find that the 30 to 45 seconds needed to boot my iMac G5 is much...

    One letter wont work!

A simple way to find out if it is a hardware or software problem is to switch to the French keyboard setting in the International Preference Pane. The "Z" will then appear under your "W" key and the "W" will appear under the "Z" key. If it is a hardware problem, then you will still be able to...

Is OSX 10.4.9 Universal Binary ?

I've made a Carbon Copy Cloner backup of my iMac Core 2 Duo's internal disk on a FireWire external disk, and I can boot my iMac from it without any problem. The System is OSX 10.4.9. The question is : can I use my 10.4.9 external drive to boot an iMac G5 in order to repair its internal disk ...
