    HP 8250i CD-RW drive doesn't work under X Beta

    My HP 8250i CD-RW drive (IDE) works perfectly under OS 8.6, but OS X Beta's System Profiler doesn't even show the drive as being installed. Does anyone have any idea whether or not this is likely to be remedied with the final release of OS X?

    Can Disk Utility fix OS X startup volume, or will I have to use Norton Beta for now?

    Office 2001 alternatives?

    I'm not sure if AppleWorks has the MS translators, but it does run natively in Mac OS X (as well as in the Classic environment -- see its "Inspector" window). As for Star Office, yes, it will be available for the Mac, but I don't know when.

    How much RAM (totalled) am I using?

    If anybody could tell me how to figure out how much (as a percentage) of my total RAM I'm using at any one time, as opposed to how much RAM each cryptically-named process in Process Viewer was using, I'd much appreciate it.
