I'm trying to bind a 10.6 stand alone server into our 10.5 OD to run as an iCal server. When I bind the apple-serviceinfo attribute is not created in the Computer record so I can't enable calendaring. I think that I had the same issue when I was testing a 10.5 calendar server - but I can't...
We've been using Augmented Home Folders fairly successfully for over a year now. There are some caveats but on the whole it seems to work really well and keeps users SMB home folders clear.
However I seem to have hit a stumbling block. Previously we were binding the stations into AD and OD...
I've filed this as a bug report with Apple but would be very appreciative if some kind folks could help me to test.
As stated above, our new users are not having their mail auto-configured fully. In WGM for com.apple.mail.managed we set:-
ONCE:-
AuthenticationScheme GSSAPI
FullUserName %@...
We're running a COD setup and everything has been fine. I've upgraded the clients and server to 10.5.8 with seemingly no problems. However, I've just added some new users and found that "Often" and "Once" preferences are not applying to users, "Always" apply just fine. In essence what this means...
Trying to auto-configure iCal to pick up accounts on our iCal server. Using WGM auto-configuring mail accounts works perfectly but iCal accounts do not seem to show up when a user logs in. They can add the accounts manually and the settings do appear in the users Managed Preferences folder...
I've investigated further. The test machine is bound into our AD/OD cylinder. If I create an edu.mit.Kerberos file on a machine which is not bound it works fine so I'm guessing the AD plugin is somehow overriding my Kerberos settings. Any ideas on how I can stop this?
We've setup the appropriate ports on our firewall so that our clients can get kerberos tickets off-site - the plan was to authenticate to our VPN this way.
We have 2 kdcs (kdc1 and kdc2) and I've made kdc1 externally accessible. Everything worked well when I tested yesterday afternoon, I...
Solved! Although not the most intuitive solution. You have to run Keychain Access as root. Open up a Terminal window and type:-
sudo /Applications/Utilities/Keychain\ Access.app/Contents/MacOS/Keychain\ Access
Enter your password and keychain will launch. You can now export Certs and...
I've recently upgraded our web server and wanted to export the SSL certs from our old one to our new one. When I tried to export the certs and keys (as .p12 files) from our old server it kept asking me for a password. No matter which password I put in (including no password) it said that I had...
We don't use NetRestore, we use a home-grown deployment solution. I recreated the image on one of the newer MacBooks and all was well. Not sure what the problem was.
Having received a fresh batch of NVidia MacBooks I've remade our default image and attempted to image the MacBooks. However once the imaging is completed they all boot in verbose mode. Other than this they operate perfectly. Our deployment script blesses the disk once the imaging is complete and...
