No, no VPN @ work. We use that from remote locations. As far as I know at the office, it only took enabling DNS, Open Directory and a few others I think giving us access. We access wirelessly through our router. No firewall changes were needed as far as I know.

Thanks for your input LMeinhardt. I've tried this solution numerous times and it works - until I power down and then power up. For now it's working by sharing it through our Leopard server.

Thanks for the example. Yes, I get that kind of printer utility window. I cannot remember what all features are available - I don't believe it even checks for ink levels. I'll check when I'm in the office tomorrow, thanks.

I can only print a test page directly from the control buttons on the HP. It's an older 2500L laserjet. Nothing will print from the Mac through Snow. The HP works fine with Tiger 10.4 and Leopard 10.5 but, Snow 10.6 is a problem. HP Service also confirms it should work.

Thanks Jesse714, I have done that several times. It's hit or miss getting it to reset. Rarely responds which, is part of what makes me suspect the wheel button is shot. Or, some other critical issue I can't think of.
