I am looking for a durable voltage converter to use with my iBook on a trip from US to Europe. All converters that I found so far say something like "use with hair dryers and other small devices". What about a laptop? Does anyone have any experience in this matter?

I've been using Stuffit Standard 8.0.2 for a while. Mainly DropZip and DropStuff. All of a sudden those two can no longer be launched. If I try launching either one of them, the icon would bounce in the dock for a while (much longer than any other app), then stop, the little arrow underneath it...
When I make a backup CD of such files (before opimizing, that is) - how do they get recorded onto the actual CD - as fragments (collected from all over the volume) or does each of these fragmented files get written onto a CD "in one continuous piece" so to speak? I use Toast for backups, and...

I read it. But it said that on-th-fly tasks happen to small files (under 20 mb). I couldn't find anything about large ones, like DVD VOB files, etc..
This thread quickly trailed off my original question: is there, or isn't there some magical unix command that I can just type in the Terminal so that it would tell me just how badly my hard drive fragmentation is at the moment.
